Taking care of yourself and your plants as we move into winter
November 21, 2020 @ 5:00 am—6:00 am CST$20
Has your houseplant collection expanded over the summer months? If you’re looking at a living room full of plants and wondering, “Now what?!” this program is for you.
Enjoy the benefits of indoor plants such as cleaner air, connection with nature, and a mood boost by keeping those plants alive and thriving. Jennifer Nelson from Grounded and Growing will teach you how to set your plants up to thrive indoors, with advice on placement, watering, lighting, and pest management.
This workshop is for plant beginners and veterans alike. Bring all your houseplant questions and concerns–pictures and actual plants are welcome! No question is too big or too small.
If you need MORE plants indoors, Plantify will be on-site selling a selection of houseplants.
This program is conducted in-person at Soul Care with a capacity of 12 people to accommodate social distancing. Masks are required for all attendees.
ABOUT THE PRESENTER
Jennifer Schultz Nelson is a life-long gardener that followed her passion for plants all the way through earning a Ph.D. in Horticulture from the University of Illinois. She served as a University of Illinois Extension Horticulture Educator for 12 years where she found she really loved helping people solve gardening problems and discover their own love of gardening. Today she offers that same help and guidance on her blog Grounded and Growing (www.groundedandgrowing.com) and also explores how gardening can be an antidote to hectic modern living. You can also find her as a panelist on WILL’s MidAmerican Gardener. Jennifer lives in Monticello with her husband Chris and their son and daughter.
