Waking Death: Conversations about death and dying

June 3, 2020 @ 1:00 pm3:00 pm CDT

(This is a virtual meeting)

During this time of coronavirus, the world can seem like it’s been turned upside down. In many ways, we’ve all been experiencing literal and figurative deaths big and small. And it can bring on feelings of anxiety, grief, or fear of death.

Death Doulas Melissa Morgan and Melanie Sheckels share a passion for helping people have critical conversations about death and grief to better understand their values in life and their needs for care and support at the end of life. They created the Waking Death community conversation group as a space for getting curious about the most fundamental human truth – all life ends in death. This group typically meets at Soul Care in Urbana, but for the foreseeable future we will bring these conversations virtually to you right into the comfort of your own home!

This event is FREE to attend because we believe that everyone has a right to access supportive conversations around death. But you can support small-business owners Melanie and Melissa by making a donation. You can donate through Paypal (paypal.me/melaniesheckels) or through Venmo (@Threshold_Doula). NO ONE will be turned away for lack of funds.

This meeting will be conducted online using ZOOM, a video conferencing tool. You can choose to join using video and audio, or just audio. You use a desktop or laptop computer, smart phone, or pad to access the meeting.
