Walking the Labyrinth at Crystal Lake

In the busy-ness of our lives, walking the labyrinth can be a path to quiet reflection.
Labyrinth walking is a timeless spiritual practice, an ancient prayer tool for contemplation and self-discovery that has been part of many cultures for more than 4,000 years. It’s is a walking meditation, a path of thoughtful prayer, and an ancient blueprint to connect body, mind, and spirit.
This hands-on workshop will provide information about the benefits of labyrinth walking, including how you can use labyrinth walks as a tool for mindfulness, relaxation. and spiritual connection. You will be given a brief history and background of the labyrinth and suggestions on how to walk it.
After the introduction, you will be given time to walk the labyrinth. The morning will end with some reflection time, journaling, and sharing experiences.
To ensure that all participants have a meaningful experience and to accommodate social distancing, space is limited to 10 people.
Through this experience you will:
* Learn about the history and construction of the labyrinth
* Ground your body, restore balance, and quiet your busy mind
* Connect with the divine and hear your inner voice
* Gain creative insight and inner guidance
* Connect with others walking
About Your Presenter:
Kelly SkinnerKelly Skinner is passionate about helping people learn how to incorporate spiritual wellness in their daily life. She believes that having practices and habits that help us to stay centered and calm can help us keep balanced and stay aligned with our intentions for how we want to live.  A mom of 5 kids and one 180 pound mastif, Kelly has called St. Joseph, IL home for the past 11 years. She’s an active member of St. Patrick’s Catholic Church and a fan of contemplative mystics both old and new. She’s the visionary behind Soul Care, a new retreat center in Urbana that offers learning, resources, connection, and a quiet space for rest and reflection — all in one convenient location. She built Soul Care to create a heart-centered community of spiritual practitioners and seekers who are living with intention into our most authentic selves.
